About Me

Alex Crawford (she/her)
Clinical Psychologist
MAPS, FCCLP, BAdvSci (Hons), BA, MClinPsych
Adjunct Fellow of Macquarie University
I am passionate about working with people to assist them in better understanding their emotions and relationships, and cultivating habits that can lead to a greater sense of contentment and fulfilment. I place a person's values at the heart of my work with them, as these can guide the therapy process to a place that will be most beneficial for them as an individual. I aim to create a therapeutic environment that is open, accepting and compassionate, and instils a sense of strength.
I have advanced training and experience working with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and draw on methods from a number of other therapy styles where appropriate (see below for an extensive list). Above this is a list of the types of presenting problems I have experience working to support people with.
I have worked with people from a variety of different cultural backgrounds and religious orientations, and consider myself an LGBTQI ally.
I am an accredited clinical supervisor and offer clinical supervision for Psychologists and Clinical Psychology Registrars who are completing the AHPRA Clinical Psychology Registrar program.

Anxiety - Depressed mood - Bipolar - Panic attacks - Adult ADHD - Single-incident and complex trauma - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) - Dealing with relationship problems - Grief - Adjustment difficulties - Dealing with family conflict - Coping with chronic health issues - Gender dysphoria - Managing study and work stress
